This is a rare variety of pectolite, only occurring in the Dominican Republic, discovered in 1974 as a volcanic stone in the result of volcanic activity that happened millions of years ago. Belongs to the inosilicate group of minerals, this gemstone is a one-of-a-kind variety of pectolite that radiates white, green, and pale to sky blue colors. Primarily it is composed of calcium sodium silicate with the possibility of containing tracing elements like copper which is the reason behind its blue coloration.
