This is a blue aluminosilicate mineral, occurs in aluminum with high quantity of metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rock and it is a member of aluminosilicate minerals family. In color it is ordinarily patchy blue, though it can vary from pale to deep blue and can also be gray or white. It has a common mineral association with quartz, Almandine, biotite, albite, andalusite and staurolite but kyanite’s habit makes it look unique from the rest of the minerals.
